Iguazú river overcomes a land slope where it magically delivers tons of water which fall from 70m high (229.6ft) surrounded by a lush rainforest. Every year, Iguazú receives more than a million tourists. Metal footbridges, an important interpretation center and a gas train which takes you to the unimaginable, make the three-kilometred water curtain an undefeatable view.

Best time to go

This region has a very humid subtropical climate. Although you can visit the falls during all the year, spring is the best time to go because the rains are less frequent and the heat is not as suffocating as in summer. During winter is very pleasant during the day but cooler at night.

What to wear

During summer you must bring loose and light clothes such as shorts, T-shirts, shirts and a good pair of trainers.

If you travel on winter it is necessary to carry a light coat.

Must See / Do

» While visiting the Argentinean-side falls take the boat to San Martín Island. This boat trip is included in the ticket you pay to get into the park. Many tourists don’t take this tour because they mistake it with the “Great Adventure” tour.

» Take the Great Adventure tour on the Argentinean side.

» If you like trekking and are fit you can’t miss Sendero Macuco: This trekking path is a traditional route for nature-watching lovers. It is an old 3,600mt long nose-dive forestal extraction for forest environment. This path allows you to rack a 20-metre water fall in the middle of the forest. Do not take this tour after 5pm (4pm in winter).
» Gaze at Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat).

» If your budget allows you so, stay at the Sheraton Hotel. Although being a 5-star hotel it is not the best resort but the only one which is located within the National Park.

» Taste the chipás: Paraguay’s, south of Brazil and this Argentinean region typical tapioca flour-made cheese bread. 7.

» Visit the Brazilian side.

How long do you need?

2 nights minimum. 95% of the tourists stay 2 nights in order to have a complete day to visit the place. During that day we suggest you to visit Iguazú National Park on the Argentinean side and do the Great Adventure optional tour.
